Anneli Furmark, a Swedish painter and comic artist, was born in Vallentuna, grew up in Lulea, and received her MFA from Umeå University. Her first graphic novel, The Mazes and Other Stories, was published in 2002. She has participated in numerous anthologies, including Drawn & Quarterly Showcase: Book Five, and has produced nine graphic novels to date. Her work has been awarded twice at the Kemi Festival in Finland, and her book, Red Winter, was in the official selection of the Angouleme Comics Festival in 2016. Outside Sweden, she has been published in Canada, France, Finland, and the Netherlands.

Hanna Strömberg translates to and from English, Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish. Her translated books include Anneli Furmark’s Red Winter (Drawn & Quarterly, 2017), Lisa Wool-Rim Sjöblom’s Palimpsest (Drawn & Quarterly, 2019), and Daria Bogdanska’s Wage Slaves (Conundrum, 2019).
